Savings banks join forces with the French payment service provider Ingenico

The German savings banks and the French payment service provider Ingenico want to set up a joint venture. Ingenico had announced that the company wanted to merge part of its business in Germany with the payment service provider BS Payone, the majority of which is owned by Deutsche Sparkassenverlag (DSV). Ingenico, best known for its POS terminals and the eCommerce payment service provider Ogone, will hold a majority of 52 percent in the joint venture and will also consolidate it. The DSV, which is owned by the regional savings bank associations and the Landesbanken, emphasized that it was not a sale. As minority owners, the savings banks should retain a significant say. Note: Ingenico has also been one of the cooperation partners of creditPass for many years. Numerous Ingenico customers use reliable direct debit payments and the associated security services from creditPass via the Ingenico-Ogone interface.
