Nexi € 7.8 billion takeover of Nets creates one of the largest EU payment platforms

The Italian payment processor Nexi has announced a further acquisition and is taking over the Scandinavian competitor and payment provider Nets, which recently took over Concardis, among others. The transaction will also create the largest online payment company in Europe in terms of volume and number of customers. After the bankruptcy of Wirecard, Adyen NV, based in the Netherlands, is the largest payment company on the continent in terms of market value. The French provider of digital payment services Worldline SA had already agreed in February of this year to buy the European competitor Ingenico Group SA. CreditPass GmbH is an independent and flexible service provider for the majority of the aforementioned companies and their retail customers. We look forward to the opportunities that mergers of this kind always open up.
